Lime Kiln Trail - 5/15/2010

On May 8, the new season of Team in Training kicked off. The Zion hike team had 11 members at the time of the kick off.

May 15th was the first scheduled group hike. There were 6 members of the hike team present on a soggy Saturday morning at the trailhead. Cindy, the LLS Staff member for the hike team was also at the hike and we talked her into hiking with us.

It rained through the entire hike. About 1/2 mile into the 3 mile hike, there is a spot where you have to cross a small stream. Usually there are a couple of rocks that allow you to cross over the stream easily and continue the hike. On this day, the water was deeper than usual because of the rain. Several people ended up with wet feet, but we continued anyway.

The hike was 3.25 miles and everyone was still smiling at the end.

The next hike is on 5/22 at Labarque Creek Conservation Area.
